Instead of going to bed right now I feel passionate to share with you what I just experienced. I was craving going to a spa earlier today but due to timing, cost and many other reasons I don’t feel like I will be doing that any time soon.
The skin on the back of my hands were itching, a dry uncomfortable itch that I knew scratching would not help. As I was browsing a grocery store for some sort of oil to rub on myself I saw a body scrub and I insistently remembered that I knew how to make scrubs for myself. I then looked at the prices of the oils for the body and how expensive they were and did not want to spend 38 dollars on a 200ml bottle. Instead I grabbed two containers of coconut oil. One to cook with and one to use for my body. There are so many different varieties now in the nature stores that I chose the two that felt the most like what they would be best for. So I spent $12.99 on a bottle for my body and $12.99 for cooking. There are so many article on google that talk about the benefits of coconut oils. Good for you on the inside and out.
When I got home I also realized that my face felt dry as well. I knew avocado is full of oil and fats that are good for us on the inside so I checked out Google to see if there were any sites on how to make homemade avocado mask and sure enough there were tonnes. I chose the first one on the list and then did my own creation.
As the bath was running I put all of the ingredients together for myself.
I made up a sugar scrub as it can be gentler on the skin compared to a salt scrub with can be more abrasive. Salt scrubs can be more drying and since I all ready felt dry that was not needed. I also added chamomile essential oil which is known for healing the skin.
Sugar scrub recipe
Organic cane sugar 1/3 cup
2 large tablespoons of organic coconut oil
6 drops of chamomile
half an avocado squished in bowl
3 tablespoons of honey
The sugar scrub felt great and I felt like that was a perfect amount. Next time I might not add as much honey and as well as use my magic bullet to mix up the avocado so that there are no chunks hanging off my face. I also had way too much so I just dumped the rest of the avocado mix on my head. My partner said I looked like a giant had just sneezed on me.
And then the bath. Hot, oh so yummy. And again with the witty comment, he said,” you look like you were sitting in pea soup.”
My body feels soothed. And my mind feels happy to share this with you.
